For the Meatballs:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 pound ground pork
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup whole milk
- 1 small yellow onion, finely grated
- 1 egg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
For the Sauce:
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
For Garnish:
- Chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Prepare the Meatballs: In a large bowl, combine breadcrumbs and milk. Add ground beef, ground pork, grated onion, egg, allspice, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Form into small meatballs.
- Cook the Meatballs: Brown the meatballs in butter in a skillet. Remove and set aside.
- Make the Sauce: Whisk flour into the drippings, then slowly add beef broth, cream, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard. Simmer until thickened.
- Combine: Return meatballs to the skillet, coat in sauce, and simmer until heated through.
- Serve: Garnish with parsley and serve with preferred sides.
