For the meatballs:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
For the sauce:
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/3 cup white vinegar
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water (optional, for thickening)
- Chopped green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the meatballs: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, garlic, salt, and pepper. Form into 1-inch meatballs.
- Cook the meatballs: Heat vegetable oil in a skillet and cook meatballs until browned and cooked through.
- Make the sauce: Whisk together brown sugar, ketchup, vinegar, and soy sauce. Pour over meatballs and simmer until thickened.
- Serve: Garnish with green onions and serve hot.
