Cinnamon Honey Coating
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Prep the Bananas: Peel the bananas and slice them thinly, about 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick. Use a mandoline slicer if available to ensure even slices.
- Prevent Browning: Place the banana slices in a large bowl and drizzle with lemon juice to prevent them from browning.
- Make the Cinnamon Honey Coating: In a small bowl, mix honey or maple syrup with ground cinnamon and a pinch of salt if using. Stir until well combined.
- Coat the Banana Slices: Drizzle the cinnamon honey mixture over the banana slices and gently toss them to coat evenly.
- Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 3 to 5 minutes.
- Arrange Banana Slices: Place the coated banana slices in a single layer inside the air fryer basket. You may need to air fry in batches depending on your air fryer size.
- Air Fry the Chips: Cook the banana slices in the air fryer for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping halfway through. Watch closely toward the end to prevent burning. The chips should turn golden brown and crispy.
- Cool and Crisp: Remove the banana chips from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes. They will continue to crisp up as they cool.
- Serve or Store: Enjoy immediately or store the banana chips in an airtight container for up to 2 to 3 days.
