Instructions
- Prepare the Cornstarch Slurry: In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water to form a slurry and set aside.
- Sauté Aromatics: In a saucepan over medium heat, add sesame oil. Sauté the garlic and ginger for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Mix Sauce Ingredients: Add soy sauce, rice vinegar, hoisin sauce, chili garlic sauce, and brown sugar to the pan. Stir well and bring to a simmer.
- Thicken the Sauce: Stir in the cornstarch slurry and simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens.
- Add Spice: If desired, add red pepper flakes for extra heat. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving or storing.
