Main Meatball Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 2 green onions (finely chopped)

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

For the Teriyaki Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (slurry)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 garlic clove (minced)
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Make the Meatballs: In a large bowl, mix ground meat, breadcrumbs, egg, green onions, garlic, ginger, salt, and pepper. Roll into meatballs and bake for 18–20 minutes.
  3. Prepare the Teriyaki Sauce: In a saucepan, combine soy sauce, water, brown sugar, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Thicken with cornstarch slurry.
  4. Combine Meatballs and Sauce: Transfer baked meatballs to a pan, pour teriyaki sauce over them, and cook briefly to coat evenly.
  5. Serve: Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve warm over rice or noodles.
