Main Sauce Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger

Additional Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon cold water for slurry
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a saucepan, mix soy sauce, water, rice vinegar, brown sugar, honey, garlic, and ginger. Simmer.
  2. Make Slurry: Mix cornstarch and water in a bowl. Add to sauce and cook until thickened.
  3. Finish: Remove from heat, add sesame oil (if desired), and cool before using or storing.

  • Store leftover sauce in the fridge for up to 1 week.
