- 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven and prepare pan: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper and lightly grease.
- Make brownie layer: Whisk melted butter and sugar, add eggs and vanilla. Sift in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder; stir and spread in pan.
- Prepare cookie layer: Beat softened butter with sugars, add egg and vanilla. Gradually mix in flour, baking soda, and salt. Fold in chocolate chips. Spoon over brownie layer.
- Bake: Bake for 30–35 minutes until golden. Cool before slicing into squares.
