Shrimp Creole:

- 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
- 1 cup chicken broth

- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, adjust for spice level)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- Cooked rice (for serving)
Instructions
- Sauté Vegetables: In a large skillet or Dutch oven, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, bell pepper, and celery. Sauté for about 5 minutes, until the vegetables begin to soften.
- Cook Aromatics: Add the minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Simmer Sauce: Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, chicken broth, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, thyme, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer, add bay leaves, and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes.
- Cook Shrimp: Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes until pink and cooked through.
- Finish and Serve: Stir in lemon juice, adjust seasoning, remove bay leaves, and serve the shrimp creole over cooked rice. Garnish with fresh parsley.
