Instructions

- Add diced onion and green bell pepper, and cook for another 3–4 minutes until vegetables are softened and beef is cooked through.
- Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Reduce heat to low and stir in ketchup, tomato paste, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, salt, pepper, and water.
- Simmer for 5–10 minutes until the mixture thickens.
- Toast the Buns: While the mixture simmers, lightly butter and toast the buns in a separate pan or under the broiler if desired.
- Serve: Spoon the sloppy joe mixture onto the toasted buns and serve warm.
