- 8 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
Chocolate Buttercream Frosting:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1/3 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and line two 9-inch round cake pans.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: Combine flour, cocoa, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
- Add Wet Ingredients: Mix in eggs, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla until smooth. Stir in hot coffee.
- Stir in Chocolate Chips: Fold in semisweet, milk, and white chocolate chips.
- Bake: Divide batter between pans and bake for 30-35 minutes. Cool in pans, then transfer to racks.
- Make Ganache: Heat cream, pour over chocolate, whisk until smooth.
- Prepare Frosting: Beat butter, add powdered sugar, cocoa, and milk until smooth.
- Assemble: Layer cakes with frosting, cover with frosting, drizzle with ganache.
