Description

Tuna Melt Bruschetta is a delightful appetizer featuring crispy baguette slices topped with a creamy tuna mixture and melted mozzarella cheese. Perfectly buttery and seasoned with paprika, black pepper, and a touch of parsley, this easy-to-make recipe offers a warm, savory bite suitable for gatherings or a quick snack.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Bruschetta Base

  • 1 Baguette
  • 40 g Butter (for spread)

For the Tuna Topping

  • 1 can Tuna Chunks (185g in oil)
  • 2 tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 1/8 tsp Black Pepper
  • Salt (a pinch)
  • Paprika powder (a pinch)
  • 1 tbsp Parsley (optional, chopped)

For the Cheese Topping

  • 100 g Mozzarella Cheese (shredded)

Instructions

  1. Slice the baguette: Cut the baguette diagonally into slices about 1 inch thick to create a perfect base for the bruschetta.
  2. Prep and bake the bread: Spread butter evenly on both sides of each baguette slice. Place slices on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F (170°C) for a total of 15 minutes, flipping them halfway through to achieve a golden crisp texture on both sides.
  3. Prepare the tuna mixture: Drain the tuna chunks thoroughly and transfer them into a bowl. Add mayonnaise, paprika powder, a pinch of salt, black pepper, and chopped parsley if using. Stir well to combine all ingredients evenly.
  4. Assemble the bruschetta: Spread approximately 1 tablespoon of the prepared tuna mixture onto each baked baguette slice. Generously top each slice with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  5. Broil the bruschetta: Place the assembled baguette slices under the broiler just long enough to melt the mozzarella cheese, watching carefully to avoid burning. Remove once the cheese is bubbly and lightly browned.
  6. Garnish and serve: Optionally, sprinkle additional chopped parsley over the melted cheese for a fresh touch. Serve the Tuna Melt Bruschetta warm as a tasty appetizer or snack.

Notes

  • Make sure to drain the tuna well to prevent the bruschetta from becoming soggy.
  • Adjust seasoning to taste, especially the paprika and salt.
  • Use fresh parsley to enhance the flavor and presentation.
  • For a crispier base, you can toast the baguette slices longer before adding toppings.
  • Broil the cheese carefully and do not leave unattended to prevent burning.
