Description

Twisted Crescent Roll Hot Dogs are a fun and easy snack or appetizer featuring hot dogs wrapped in flaky crescent roll dough, twisted to create a unique spiral shape. Perfect for parties or a kid-friendly treat, these savory bites bake up golden and delicious in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 2 (8-oz) tubes refrigerated crescent roll dough sheets
  • 8 hot dogs (or turkey dogs)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375ºF (190ºC) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and for easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare the dough and hot dogs: Cut each tube of crescent roll dough into 4 rectangles. Place one hot dog in the center of each rectangle. Fold the dough over the hot dog, ensuring there is a small amount of extra dough at the seam, not touching the dog, to allow for easy twisting. Pinch the edges firmly to seal the dough around each hot dog.
  3. Slice and twist: Carefully cut each wrapped hot dog into 8 slices, being sure not to cut through the dough overhang so the pieces stay attached. Place the wrapped, sliced hot dogs onto the prepared baking sheet. Twist the first cut section to the left and the second to the right, alternating twists along the entire length.
  4. Bake: Bake the twisted crescent roll hot dogs for 15 to 20 minutes or until the dough is golden brown and fully cooked.

Notes

  • Use turkey dogs or vegetarian hot dogs for a leaner or vegetarian option.
  • Serve with mustard, ketchup, or your favorite dipping sauces.
  • For extra flavor, sprinkle sesame seeds or poppy seeds on top before baking.
  • Ensure not to slice through the dough completely in step 3 to keep twists connected.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated in the oven for best texture.
