  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar (for muffin batter)
  • Muffin liners or silicone muffin cups

Instructions

  1. Caramel Layer: Combine 1 cup of sugar with 1 tablespoon of water in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook until golden amber, then pour into muffin liners.
  2. Muffin Batter: Whisk eggs, condensed milk, evaporated milk, and vanilla. In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Beat butter and sugar, then combine with dry ingredients and flan mixture. Pour into muffin cups.
  3. Bake in a water bath at 350°F (175°C) for 35–40 minutes. Cool, refrigerate for 2 hours, and invert to serve.
