Description

These homemade Yogurt Flatbreads are a simple and versatile bread option that pairs perfectly with a variety of dishes. Made with Greek yogurt for a soft texture, these flatbreads are easy to whip up and can be customized with different toppings for added flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients:

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour (plus more for dusting)
  • 1½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (plus more for cooking)

Optional Toppings:

  • Garlic butter
  • Fresh herbs

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the Greek yogurt and olive oil, and mix until a dough forms.
  2. Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for 2–3 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. Divide and Roll: Divide the dough into 6 equal pieces and roll each into a ball. Flatten each ball into a round about â…› inch thick.
  4. Cook the Flatbreads: Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat and lightly grease with olive oil. Cook each flatbread for about 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown spots appear and the bread is cooked through.
  5. Optional Toppings: Remove from heat and brush with garlic butter or sprinkle with fresh herbs. Serve warm.

Notes

  • You can use whole milk yogurt, but Greek yogurt yields the best texture.
  • These flatbreads are great for wraps, dipping, or as an accompaniment to curries and soups.
  • Leftover flatbreads can be stored in an airtight container and reheated in a skillet or toaster.
