Description

This Zesty Philly Cheesesteak Skillet is a quick and savory one-pan meal that combines tender beef with sweet bell peppers, onions, and gooey provolone cheese. Perfect for a satisfying dinner any night of the week!

For the Skillet:

  • 1 lb thinly sliced beef sirloin or flank steak
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion (thinly sliced)
  • 1 green bell pepper (thinly sliced)
  • 1 red bell pepper (thinly sliced)
  • 2 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

For Garnish:

  • 4 slices provolone cheese or ½ cup shredded provolone
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Sauté vegetables: Add the onions and peppers, sauté for 5-6 minutes until tender.
  3. Add garlic: Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  4. Cook beef: Add beef, sear for 2-3 minutes, then combine with veggies.
  5. Season: Add Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Melt cheese: Lay provolone over the top, cover the skillet for 1-2 minutes until melted.
  7. Garnish and serve: Garnish with parsley and serve immediately.

  • Serve over rice, in lettuce wraps, or stuffed into hoagie rolls.
  • For extra heat, add crushed red pepper or sliced jalapeños.
